An allegation has been made against the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) of clubbing a farmer named Eslam Ali (65) by entering into Bangladesh territory through the Shivganj border of Chapainawabganj.
The incident took place on Wednesday (October 12) in the Dasbighi area of the Bangladesh territory on the Masudpur border of the upazila.
Injured Eslam Ali is a resident of Munnapara village of the upazila. He is currently undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
According to the injured farmer Eslam, he went to cut jute in his land in Dasbighi area of Bangladesh territory. At that time BSF members of India’s Sabapur camp on the other side of the border intruded into Bangladesh and started beating him with the butt of the rifle. Later, his relatives rescued him and admitted him to Shibganj Upazila Health Complex. Later, he was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for bettyer treatment.
Confirming the matter, the commander of 53 BGB battalion, Lt. Col. Mohammad Suruj Mia said, the injured farmer is being treated in the hospital.
Border patrol has also been strengthened in the area. The BGB captain also said that BSF has been strongly protested in this incident. We have called for a flag meeting for an explanation.
