On the way back after work in Dhaka, a car of Bogra police was caught by robbers on the west bank of Bangabandhu Bridge. The robbers ran away with two mobile phone setsand cash taka. The incident took place on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway in Sirajganj early Wednesday.
Arifur Rahman Mondal, Superintendent of Police in Sirajganj, confirmed the matter to the media saying that when the team from Sonatola Police Station was heading towards Dhaka by a private vehicle, a gang of three to four “muggers” intercepted it at gun point on the highway around 2:30am.
They mugged two mobile phone sets and some money from them, said the SP.
Details of the incident could not be known immediately as Bogura police refrained from making any comment in this regard.
