Women’s T20 Asia Cup semis today

The two semi-finals of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup will be held at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today. Private satellite channel GTV will telecast the matches live.
Favourites India Women’s Cricket team will take on promising Thailand Women’s Cricket team in the first semi-final, which begins at 9.00am.
On the other hand, Pakistan Women’s Cricket team will face Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket team in the second semi-final, which starts at 1.30pm.
India grabbed 10 points from six matches, while Pakistan also claimed 10 points from as many matches. But by virtue of better run rate India took the top spot.
Sri Lanka gained eight points from six matches, while Thailand earned six points from as many outings.
Defending champions Bangladesh failed to reach the semi-finals as their last match against minnows the United Arab Emirates was abandoned due to heavy rain at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday last. Thus, unlucky Bangladesh had to be satisfied with five points from six matches.
A total of seven teams have taken part in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup, the most prestigious cricket meet of Asia continent. They are: Hosts Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia.
The winners of the two semi-finals will face each other in the final at the same venue on October 15. The winning team of the final will be the champions of the cricket competition.
