Stuttgart sack coach Matarazzo

VfB Stuttgart have sacked head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo with immediate effect, the struggling Bundesliga club announced on Monday.
After almost three years in charge, Matarazzo’s reign came to end after the Swabians lost to Union Berlin 1-0 on Sunday and dropped to 17th place, remaining the only side without a victory in the 2022-23 campaign.
“After an in-depth analysis of last season, when we were only able to secure our top-flight status in the last match, we started the new season with high hopes,” said Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat.
