Actress Ishita lost her mother

Popular TV actress Rumana Rashid Ishita lost her mother Jahanara Rashid yesterday. She passed away round 7:30am on Monday at her residence in the capital’s Uttara area. Ahsan Habib Nasim, President of Actors’ Equity Bangladesh confirmed the news
to the media.
Nasim informed that for almost three years, Ishita’s mother was fighting with cancer and breathed her last yesterday. According to Nasim, Ishita’s mother was buried at their family cemetery in Savar.
Rumana Rashid Ishita got popularity in the media with her award winning performances in Notun Kuri, a talent show for child artistes aired on Bangladesh Television (BTV). Then she debuted as a child artiste with the drama titled ‘Dujone’ directed
by Fakhrul Abedin.
However, at the peak of her
acting career, Ishita decided it was time for change and subsequently she tried to give direction of television dramas. Besides this, she also released seven musical albums and wrote two books.
