Shakib breaks into top 5 ODI bowlers in world

Shakib Al Hasan has gone up four places in the ICC ODI bowlers ranking after his sterling performance in the just-concluded Zimbabwe series.
The Bangladesh left-arm spinner now shares fifth place with Australia’s Mitchell Johnson on 680 points.
Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal leads the pack with 770 points while Caribbean spinner Sunil Narine is breathing on his neck with 753 points.
South Africa’s Dale Steyn is a distant third on 699 while England’s James Anderson (683) is closely following him. Shakib bagged 11 wickets in the five matches against Zimbabwe averaging 12.36 with a best of 4 for 41. He took a wicket in every 22.9 deliveries.
The 27-year-old gave the Zimbabwe batsmen a hard time drying up the runs every time he came in to bowl. He conceded 3.23 runs per over in the series.
His skipper Mashrafe bin Mortaza has moved up nine places to 21 on the list.
The pacer picked up nine wickets with an average of 16.44 in the five-match series. Other paceman Rubel Hossain has gone up six spots to be 57th while offspinner Mahmudullah Riyad dropped six places at 64.
Spinner Arafat Sunny, who played the first three matches, has climbed 22 spots to 74.
