The Supreme Court administration has announced new office hours. All the High Court Division benches will continue their trial proceedings from 9.30 am to 2.45 pm with a 45 minutes break from 12.45 pm to 1.30 pm for Zohr prayer from every Sunday to Thursday until issuing further notification.
The other offices of the High Court Division will start their functions from 8.00 am and continue till 3.00 pm with a 45 minutes break from 12.45 pm to 1.30 pm for Zohr prayer on every Sunday to Thursday, said a notification issued by Md Goalm Rabbani, Registrar of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.
The Appellate Division will start its trial proceedings following the earlier schedule while other offices of the Division will
start their functions from 8.00 am and will continue till 3.00 pm, said another notification issued by Md Saifur Rahman, Registrar of the Appellate Division of the SC.
The new office schedules will come into effect from Thursday (August 25), according to the notifications.
The government has decided to run all government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous offices from 8.00 am to 3.00 pm instead of 9.00 am to 5.00 pm daily to save electricity.
The new office hours will come into effect from Wednesday, 24 August, said Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam at a press briefing after a Cabinet meeting at the Secretariat on Monday.
