Fuel prices in major economies, neighbouring countries

In light of the latest decision of the government to increase prices of fuel across the country from Saturday, let’s have a look at fuel prices (per litre) in the major economies of the world as well as Bangladesh’s neighbouring countries.
At retail level, per litre price of gasoline (octane) is Tk 135 ($ 1.42), petrol Tk 130 ($ 1.37), diesel Tk 114 ($ 1.20), Kerosene Tk 114 ($ 1.20) in Bangladesh.
In India, gasoline sells at Tk 125.62 ($ 1.32), diesel Tk 112.67 ($ 1.184), and kerosene Tk 75.66 ($ 0.795). In Pakistan, gasoline price is Tk 91.45 ($ 0.961), diesel Tk 93.74 ($ 0.985), and kerosene Tk 78.13 ($ 0.821).
In Sri Lanka, gasoline sells at Tk 143.51 ($ 1.508), diesel Tk 114.29 ($ 1.201), and kerosene Tk 23.12 ($ 0.243). In Singapore, gasoline price is Tk 192.99 ($ 2.028), diesel Tk 192.42 ($ 2.022).
In Hong Kong, gasoline price is Tk 283.59 ($ 2.98), and diesel Tk 261.89 ($ 2.752). In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, gasoline price is Tk 59 ($ 0.62), diesel Tk 15.99 ($ 0.168), and kerosene Tk 20.56 ($ 0.216).
In United Arab Emirates, gasoline price is Tk 101.54 ($ 1.067), and diesel Tk 107.25 ($ 1.127). In South Korea, gasoline is Tk 145.70 ($ 1.531), diesel Tk 151.50 ($ 1.592), and kerosene Tk 126.19 ($ 1.326).
In the United States, gasoline price is Tk 112.29 ($ 1.18), and diesel Tk 129.14 ($ 1.357). In the United Kingdom, gasoline is Tk 213.17 ($ 2.24), and diesel Tk 225.06 ($ 2.365). In Germany, gasoline is Tk 169.20 ($ 1.778), and diesel Tk 188.33 ($ 1.979).
In France, gasoline price is Tk 176.53 ($ 1.855), and diesel Tk 183.38 ($ 1.927). In Australia, gasoline is Tk 121.52 ($ 1.277), and diesel Tk 146.27 ($ 1.537). In Russia, gasoline price is Tk 78.03 ($ 0.82), and diesel Tk 80.41 ($ 0.845), according to globalpetrolprices.com.
