SCBA suspends a lawyer for derogatory remark against Prophet Muhammad

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has suspended one of its members, Advocate Saifur Reza, on charge of posting a derogatory remark in his face book wall against Prophet Muhammad (Sm) which had ignited the common Muslim lawyers.
Protesting the derogatory remarks the lawyers staged a procession in the Surpeme Court Bar premises. Besides, the lawyers who have been disheartened due to the remarks against Prophet also vandalized chairs, tables and bookshelves in the room of Advocate Saifur Reza.
The protesting lawyers demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment for Saifur Reza at a rally in front of the bar building.
Lawyer Mahfuz Bin Yousuf, an Assistant Secretary of the SCBA, said, “The SCBA has suspended the membership of its member Advocate Saifur Reza on charge making derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad. The decision was taken in an emergency meeting of the SCBA executive committee.”
The lawyers said that they were taking preparation for filing a case over the issue.
Meanwhile, the Muslims across the world have been protesting for days against the derogatory comments made by Nupur Sharma, former national spokesperson of ruling party of India, BJP. In the face of protest, the BJP recently suspended Nupura Sharma from the party.
