Bangladesh will take on Turkmenistan in their second Group-E match of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers at the Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia today. The match will kick-off at 3.15pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live. Bangladesh have taken the 188th position, according to the latest FIFA rankings, while Turkmenistan have achieved the 134th position, according to the latest FIFA rankings.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh National Football team never played against Turkmenistan National Football team. Bangladesh Under-23 Football team faced Turkmenistan Under-23 Football team in the Football Competition of Asian Games in 2002. In that match, the red-and-green outfit suffered a 1-3 goals defeat to the Under-23 Football team of Turkmenistan.
Bangladesh had an unhappy start in the Group-E of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers as they lost to Bahrain by two goals to in their opening match at the same venue on June 8.
On the other hand, Turkmenistan had a sorrow start as they suffered a 1-3 goals defeat to Malaysia in their first Group-E match at the same venue on the same day.
Head Coach of Bangladesh Football team Javier Cabrera said, ” Our target is always to win. But our main expectation is to present a keenly contested match against our opponents. My boys played a competitive football in their previous match. My boys want to retain challenging football against Turkmenistan. We have a good chance tomorrow and we are very much optimistic.”
Captain of Bangladesh Football team Jamal Bhuyan said, ” Everybody have a good preparation. In last match, we tried to present competitive football. We are prepared for the match against Turkmenistan. Everybody want to battle against Turkmenistan.”
