CBA splits into 3 factions
Instability in Ctg Port feared

The internal politics of the Chittagong Port may turn instable immediately following the splits in Port CBA, it is feared.
The workers forum of Chittagong Port under the banner of Bandar Sangjuka Karmachari Parishad (Port Combined Workers Council) , CBA now has divided into 3 factions.
In the meantime , a tense situation among the leaders and members of CBA is prevailing and fearing any undesired incidents at any time .
On the other hand, BandarRakkha Parishad( Port Protection Council- BRP) is a conglomeration of port workers bodies is facing with different questions over the rallies and counter rallies of the CBA factions held recently.
Earlier, the CBA leaders of split groups vow to launch movement under the Bandar Rakkha Parishad led by former city mayor and city AL President ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury but now these CBA leaders are arranging separate programmes separately.
Port sources said, present CBA President Momtazuddin is leading one faction and the existing General Secretary Wahidullah Sarker is leading another faction and the third faction is being dominated by the Joint Secretary Fakrul Islam.
Reliable sources said, four influential political leaders are backing the CBA President Momtazuddin and basically Ports and shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan MP and the Port chairman are the prime supporter of Momtazuddin.
Meanwhile 3rd faction led by Fakrul Islam is also supporter of the concerned minister and CPA chairman but he is well known as supporter of city AL General Secretary AZM Nasiruddin .
These two leaders were the blind supporters of city AL President Mohiuddin Chwdhury earlier but now they not found in any BRP programmes of Mohiuddin Chowdhury.
The powerful faction of CBA led by Wahidullah sarker duly supported by 14 CBA leaders expressed consensus to the BRP movement of Mohiuddin Chowdhury from very inception of the movement against the irregularities and alleged corruptions of CPA, It is learnt from reliable sources that two factions of CBA led by President and the general secretary announced separate programs of BRP on November 12 last at the same venue of port colony but could not held due to intervention f the law enforcing agency on plea of deterioration of law and order due to counter programs of two factions.
While contacted the CBA General Secretary Wahidullah Sarker told The New Nation that we are always against the conspiracy of port and well will proceed with the movement of BRP led by our leader Mohiuddin Chowdhury.
He also told that some miscreants entered in our BRP and will detect them immediately. He also blamed that with the connivance of CBA President and the Joint General Secretary, CPA chairman suspended CBA vice president Mohammad Ali Minto and Badsha Miah of Engineering Deptt alleged with violation of discipline in port activities. He demanded immediate withdrawal of their suspension order otherwise CBA will enforce tougher movement .
