Ansar & VDP emerge women’s group champs

Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party emerged women’s group champions in the Independence Day Handball competition beating TST Lion, Jamalpur by 39 22 goals in the final, which was held on Wednesday at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the city. The winners led the first half by 25-12 goals. In the day’s final, Khadiza of Ansar scored eight goals. Nishi of the champions team was named the best player of the competition. Meanwhile, Border Guard Bangladesh take on Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party in the men’s group final of the competition scheduled to be held today at the same venue at 10.30 am.
