The five-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series between Bangladesh Cricket team and New Zealand Cricket came to an end on Friday last. Bangladesh clinched the series 3-2. It was for the first time that the Tigers won a T20I series against the Kiwis. It may be mentioned that most of the games were low-scoring matches.
Captain Mahmudullah Riyad was the best Bangladesh batsman of the series. He scored 14 (not out), 37 (not out), 3, 43 (not out) and 23. His total run was 130 with an average of 43.33. His highest score was 43 (not out). Opener Mohammad Naim scored 1+39+13+29+23=105 runs. His highest score was 39 and his average was 21. Liton Das the other opener scored 1+33+15+6+10=65 runs. His highest score was 33 and his average was 13. Shakib Al Hasan scored 25+12+0+8=45 runs. Shakib played four T20I matches. His highest score was 25 and his average was 11.25. Ace batsman Mushfiqur Rahim scored 16+0+20 (not out)+0+3=39 runs. His highest score was 20 (not out) and his average was 9.75.
Promising left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmad was the most successful bowler of Bangladesh. He captured 2/5, 1/17, 4/10, 1/25. He claimed altogether eight wickets and was adjudged the Player of the Series. His best bowling figure was 4/10.
‘Cutter Boy’ Mustafizur Rahman grabbed 3/10, 1/29, 4/12. The left-arm pacer did not take part in the last T20I. He also captured altogether eight wickets. His best bowling figure was 4/12.
Right-arm spinner Mahedi Hasan picked up 1/15, 2/12, 1/27,1/21. He captured altogether five wickets. His best bowling figure was 2/12.
Right-arm pacer Mohammad Saifuddin bagged 2/7, 2/28,1/16. He grabbed altogether five wickets. His best bowling figure was 2/7.
Left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan claimed 2/10, 2/29. He picked up altogether four wickets. His best bowling figure was 2/10.
