Two children drown in pond

Two children died after drowned in pond near home on Wednesday morning at Noyani village under Charkawa union Barisal Sadar upazila. The victims were identified as Rafi, 4, son of Bazlur Rahman and Rupa, 5, his cousin.
Emergency department of Barisal Sher-e- Bangla Medical College Hospital quoting family sources said the became missing from 9:00 am after went to play on courtyard and family members recovered them from the ditch at about 9:30 am.
They were brought to SBMCH and attending physician Dr. Mamunur Rashid declared Rafi as dead at 10:30 am. Rupa admitted at child unit of the hospital also died there at 11:00 am, said Dr. Asim Kumar Saha, doctor of the unit.
