A Dhaka court yesterday fixed September 26 to record the depositions of witnesses in the case filed against eight people including JKG Chairman Dr Sabrina Chowdhury and her husband Ariful Haque Chowdhury, who is also the CEO of the organisation.
Earlier, Monday was fixed to record the depositions in the case. As no witness was present yesterday, Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury of the CMM Court of Dhaka passed the order fixing the new date.
On March 31, witness Engineer Ujjal Sarker testified in the case. Of the 40 witnesses of the case, 17 including Ujjal testified so far. Although, April 27, was also fixed to record the depositions of the witnesses, testifying by witness was not possible during the existing Corona situation.
On June 23, last year, Tejgaon Police Station’s police arrested six people including Arif on the charges of issuing fake Corona certificate, forgery and fraud. It has been learnt that Sabrina-Arif couple would sell fake Corona test certificate. They took minimum Taka 5,000 for each fake certificate while they took $100 from foreign citizen for this certificate.
