Mithila to play Lady Macbeth in debut Indian movie

Popular Bangladeshi actress, model and anchor Rafiath Rashid Mithila has been cast in the role of Lady Macbeth from William Shakespeare’s tragedy Macbeth in an upcoming Indian movie titled Maya. This marks Mithila’s first Indian project. She would be inducted to the group of noted actors across the world who have previously played the iconic role, including Francis McDormand, Jeanette Nolan, Tabu, Marion Cotillard and others.
According to Mithila, the supporting cast of Maya
features Gaurav, Kamaleswar, Rahul, Tanushree and others. Filming was postponed last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The cast is
currently in Kolkata to complete the shoot.
Director Rajorshi Dey, who previously made the Bengali spiritual thriller, Purbo Poschim Dokshin, has put a feminist spin on
Lady Macbeth’s character, Mithila informed.
Mithila is also set to make her Dhallywood debut with Anonno Mamun’s movie Omansuh alongside actor Nirab Hossain.
