Syed Shemul Parvez :
“If my husband has done anything wrong, let him be tried under the customary law of the land.” But why is he missing? Questioned victim’s wife Sabekun Nahar.
She held a press conference in the Sagar-Runi auditorium of the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) in the city seeking the return of missing Islamic speaker Abu Twa-ha Mohammad Adnan and his three traveling companions on Wednesday.
I, as a wife, do not know where my husband is. I beg to all give my husband back. I don’t want anything more than that.
I just want to see my husband. If you can’t produce him to me, take me to him, she also added.
When asked did she get any threat from anybody or organization on phone or directly, victim’s wife told the New Nation that
she didn’t get any threat from anybody directly. But after two days of Tawa missing she just heard from side talking people that she shouldn’t be active on media seeking her husband if she really wants him back.
But she couldn’t identify the exact man who told it, she added. According to victim’s wife, ‘her husband left Rangpur for Bogra for a program. Due to some reasons that program was not arranged. At last he left for Dhaka again.
On the way he (Twa-ha) informed her on mobile phone that two bikes were following the car carrying them from the back.
He finally shared his Google map with her where she found out that he was only 17 minutes away from her home in Mirpur. It was around 2:37 pm, she furtther said.
Barrister M Sarwar Hossain, who provided legal assistance to the Taw-Ha family, told the New Nation “We don’t think it could be the job of an ordinary people or a gang to make a car and four people disappear at once.
I think there may have involvement of any strong organization including both national and international gang as Tawa was a popular Islamic speaker, he added.
Last Thursday, eminent Islamic speaker Abu Twa -ha Muhammad Adnan (31) along with his three friends went missing while coming back to Dhaka.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, “I have heard about the missing Islamic speaker Abu Twa-ha Muhammad Adnan.” The matter is being taken seriously. The mystery of where Taw-ha Adnan is now and in what condition will be revealed.
Meanwhile, the international human rights organization Amnesty International has issued a statement seeking the search for the missing Abu Twa-Ha Adnan. The statement came from Amnesty International South Asia’s Verified Twitter on Monday (June 14th).
Earlier, Adnan wife went to the police on Friday afternoon over the issue of her husband’s disappearance. Sadly neither Darussalam Police Station nor Mirpur police station adjacent to Gabtali registered the case.
We are getting tired of walking around the police stations. No police station is taking responsibility, as one police station is showing another police station.
at last a General Diary was lodged with the Rangpur Sadar Police Station on Sunday morning on behalf of Adnan’s mother.
At the moment, Adnan’s followers are campaigning on various social media platforms with hashtags about his disappearance and his searching.
