Chinese wig company to invest $3.85m in Ishwardi EPZ

Chinese company Dream Industries Bengal Company Limited has signed an agreement with Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority to establish a wig and hair goods manufacturing industry in Ishwardi EPZ with an investment of $3.85 million.
Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) issued a press release on Thursday in this regard. “BEPZA is receiving investment proposals amid the pandemic from both local and foreign investors because of the congenial investment atmosphere in EPZs (Export Processing Zones)”, reads the press release.
According to the press release, this fully foreign-owned company will produce annually 2.6 million pieces of wigs made of synthetic fibre and hair goods made of human hair and hashed bovine hair.
The company would create employment opportunities for 2,496 Bangladeshi nationals, said BEPZA.
Major General Md Nazrul Islam, executive chairman of BEPZA, Md Mahmudul Hossain Khan, member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA and Feng Haoran, managing director of Dream Industries Bengal Company Limited signed the agreement on Thursday at BEPZA Complex in the capital on behalf of their respective organisations.
