NRBC Bank’s EPS increased in 1st quarter

Earnings per share (EPS) and Net Asset Value (NAV) of the NRB Commercial Bank, a fourth generation bank, have been increased in the first quarter (January-March) of the current year.
The growth was seen by scrutinizing the bank’s unaudited financial report which was approved by the directors’ meeting held on Thursday virtually.
Bank’s Chairman S M Tomal Parvez presided over the meeting while Directors Rafiqul Islam Mia Arju, Mohammad Adnan Imam, A M Saidur Rahman, Abu Bakar, Mohammad Oliur Rahman, Lakiot Ullah, AKM Mustafizur Rahman, Alternative Directors Dr Kutub Uddin, and Independent Directors Dr Khan Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Abu Eshrar and Managing Director Golam Awlia, among others, were present.
According to the financial report, the bank’s consolidated EPS stood at Tk 0.44 during January-March period of the current year which was Tk 0.28 in corresponding period of the last year. On the other hand, the bank’s solo basis EPS increased Tk 0.41 from Tk 0.27 in the same period.
At the end of March, the bank’s consolidated balance sheet stood at Tk 16, 250,13,73,789 which was Tk 12,16, 88,144. Similarly, the bank’s consolidated NAV stood at Tk1,111,212,877 which was Tk983,50,67,172 in the end of December of the last year.
On the other hand, the solo basis NAV on stood at Tk 1,105,56,08,829 which was Tk979,75,43,710 in the last December.
Consolidated NAV stood at Tk15.82 per share in end of March of the current year which was Tk14 in the last December and on the solo basis NAV stood at Tk 15.74 which was Tk 13.95 in the last December.
The bank has expanded its network and banking services amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. It has also created new employment. The branches of the bank increased to 83 from 75 and the sub-branches increased to 423 from 182. Some 2500 employment has been created in the new branches.
