Bus set on fire at Malibagh in capital

Miscreants torched a passenger bus of Turag Paribahan plying on the Jatrabari-Gazipur route in city’s Malibagh.
The fire broke out in front of the police box at Malibagh level crossing just before 12 noon on Saturday.
However, no one was seriously injured in the incident.
According to the witnesses, when the bus caught fire, the passengers broke the window and
jumped on the road instantly. Some were slightly injured. Later, with the help of locals, the policemen rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.
Hatirjheel Police Station Sub-Inspector Abdul Alim, who went to the spot after the incident, said a bus of Turag Paribahan was torched by some unidentified miscreants in Malibagh.
Police brought the fire under control with the help of locals. No one was injured in the incident.
Police are investigating whether it was sabotage or an accident, the official said.
Meanwhile, miscreants set ablaze another passenger bus at Janapad crossing in the city’s Saidabad on Saturday amid the demonstration programme of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh.
The incident happened at about 8:00pm.
