BGB chief provides relief to Sunamganj flood victims
Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui visited flood-affected areas in Sunamganj on Wednesday and distributed relief materials among more than 500 distressed people.
According to a BGB press release, the BGB chief visited Lalpur Cluster Village in Gourarang Union under Sunamganj Sadar Upazila in the morning.
During the visit, he handed over food items and other essential relief materials to people affected by recent floods caused by heavy rainfall and upstream hill torrents.
The BGB also organised a free medical camp for flood victims who had limited access to healthcare facilities and provided necessary medicines to those in need.
Speaking at the programme, Major General Siddiqui said BGB would continue its relief, rescue, medical assistance and other humanitarian activities to support people affected by natural disasters as part of its commitment to public service.
