Trial of casino Khalid begins

The Metropolitan Special Tribunal-4 of Dhaka yesterday framed charges against former Jubo League leader Khalid Mahmud Bhuiyan in two cases filed under the Narcotics Control Act and Special Powers Act.
Khalid, now in the jail, pleaded not guilty and demanded justice after Judge Md Robiul Alam of the tribunal read out the charges to him. Later, the judge fixed June 1 to start the trial.
The case was filed with Motijheel Police Station of the city under the Narcotics Control Act, on charges of possessing 190 pieces of Yaba while the other case was filed under the Special Powers Act with Gulshan Police Station for possessing a good amount of foreign currencies.
