Foetus found in city

The police recovered a foetus from a trash bin in Shahjahanpur area in Dhaka on Friday afternoon.
The foetus, wrapped in a polythene bag, was noticed by some cleaners in a city corporation trash bin near Shantibagh Primary School at around 2:30pm, Shahjahanpur police sub-inspector Abdul Hakim confirmed the matter.
The police said that it was dumped there on Thursday night.
Cleaners noticed the decomposed foetus while working there and then informed locals.
Later the police recovered it and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
It was then handed over to Anjuman Mufidul Islam for burial, SI Hakim said.
Earlier on October 28, 2020, the police found a foetus near the Dhaka University Central Library area.
The six to seven-month-old foetus was found in a decomposed state.
