Windies bundle out for 259 in 1st innings

The visiting West Indies were bundled out for 259 runs by the Tigers in the first innings on the third day of the first Test at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Friday.
Miraz also shone with the cherry claiming four wickets in the space of 58 runs, while Nayeem Hasan and Taijul Islam bagged two wickets each for 54 and 84 runs respectively.
Earlier, Miraz hit a superb 103 in his first innings on the second day (Thursday).
Bangladesh were at the stumps at 47 for the loss of three wickets.
Earlier, Bangladesh piled up a huge total of 430 in the first innings on the second day.
Bangladesh led by 218 runs.
West Indies resumed their first innings with the over-night score of 75 for the loss of two wickets.
Opener Kraigg Brathwaite and second-down Nkrumah Bonner resumed their first innings with the over-night score of 49 and 17 runs respectively.
Bonner (17) was caught at the first slip by Najmul Hossain Shanto off Taijul Islam before adding any run on the third day (Friday).
After Bonner’s dismissal, Brathwaite and Kyle Mayers put on together 55 runs for the fourth wicket partnership before Kraigg Brathwaite was bowled out by Nayeem Hasan when the tourists’ total was 130 for the loss of four wickets.
Brathwaite hit 76. His 111-ball innings saw 12 fours.
After Brathwaite’s removal, Kyle Mayers was trapped leg before wicket Mehidy Hasan Miraz when the Caribbeans team’s score was 154 for the loss of five wickets.
Mayers made 40 from 65 balls featuring seven fours.
After Kyle’s dismissal, Jermaine Blackwood and Joshua Da Silva added together 99 runs in the six-wicket stand before Joshua was caught behind by wicketkeeper Liton Das off Nayeem Hasan when the visitors’ total was 253 for the loss of six wickets.
Joshua knocked a sedate 42. His 141-ball innings had seven fours.
After Joshua’s departure, The tourists failed to make any notable partnership.
