Fake ACC Commissioner held in city

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested a man named Md Mosabbir Hossain, on the charge of impersonating ACC Commissioner A F M Aminul Islam, and extortion.
A team led by ACC Director Mir Joynul Abedin Shibli detained him from Agrani Bank Bangabandhu Avenue Branch in the city on Thursday noon.
According to the ACC, a man was demanding money from various drug companies and other firms in the name of publishing magazine of the ACC, using pad containing ACC monogram and name, signature and designation of one of its commissioners.
Being informed about the matter, the anti-graft watchdog formed a team with its Director Mir Joynul Abedin Shibli as the chief.
Acting on a tiff-off, the ACC team ambushed near the Agrani Bank and challenged Mosabbir when he entered the bank and took him under custody.
Earlier in 2017, the ACC arrested one Md Nazrul Islam Nayeem on the similar allegation and filed a case against him with Rampura Police Station. The case is still pending.
ACC’s Deputy Director A K M Mahbubur Rahman filed a case against both Md Nazrul Islam Nayeem and Md Mosabbir with Paltan Police Station.
