What Ilias Kanchan says after returning home

Legendary Bengali film actor and Ekushey Padak recipient Ilias Kanchan, who has been undergoing treatment for a brain tumour in London for more than a year and a half, left for the country yesterday morning from London’s Heathrow Airport.

His son-in-law Ariful Islam Collins was always by his side like a shadow during his journey home. Expressing his gratitude to his relatives and fans present at the airport upon his return home, Kanchan said, “Alhamdulillah, I am fine, my body is fine.

All I can say is that I want to pray for everyone.

And my prayers are for them.” Kanchan went to the UK in April last year for treatment after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Later, in August of the same year, he underwent a complex brain surgery at a London hospital. Due to medical risks and various complications, it was not possible to remove the entire tumour at that time.
