Impeachment of judges by JS protested

General Secretary of BNP, City unit Dr. Shahdat Hossain said Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman handed over the impeachment power of justices to Supreme Judicial Council aimed at exercising the judgment by the justices independently and the judges became possible to announce verdict as per laws of the land. But now the judges will not be possible to announce the verdict independently as the impeachment power has been entrusted with the party leaders in Parliament
Dr. Shahdat Hossain disclosed it while addressing the preparatory meeting in favour of yesterday’s daylong hartal across the country in front of party office in city on Sunday evening .
 After a brief deliberations, a huge procession from the party office premises brought out in favour of the hartal program of yesterday. He further said the present govt is a illegal govt and the maximum parliament members were elected without vote practice and so the parliament is not a legal one and this parliament can’t pass the justice impeachment order in 16th amendment of the constitution.
He demanded abrogation of the 16 th amendment and other black laws so passed by the illegal parliament immediately. Vice President of City BNP Shamsul Alam presided over the rally while vice President Abu Sufian was the special guest in it. He also urged the police administration not to harass the leaders and workers of the BNP led 20-party alliance in the lame excuse of violence and anarchy and said every citizen of a democratic party has right to express their opinions , to launch procession , rallies etc for the better interest of the democracy.
