Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, in line with the government’s decision, has extended the ongoing closure of all courts across the country till May 16 due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Registrar General of the Supreme Court, Md Ali Akbar, on Tuesday issued a circular to this effect saying all courts of the country will remain shut from May 7 to May 14.
Earlier on March 24, the SC authorities had issued a notification declaring closure for all courts till April 2 and later the closure was extended several times by other notifications due to the global coronavirus outbreak.
Some judges will, however, continue work for hearing and disposing of urgent cases including bail petitions.
