Ferdous Ara’s Surshaptak to cross 20 years on Mar 14

During childhood when country’s noted Nazrul artiste Ferdous Ara got books as prizes her father HM Abdul Hai wrote the word Surshaptak on those books. For this reason, Ferdous Ara started her institution of music with the title Surshaptak 20 years ago. Now her father is not alive.
On March 14, Surshaptak will complete 20 years of its establishment. To mark the day, founder, director and also principal of Surshaptak, Ferdous Ara has taken a special initiative. A special programme will be held at 5:00pm on that day at National Museum.
Ferdous Ara said that Surshaptak will honour two living legends, members of families of late Sudhin Das, Sohrab Hossain, Khalid Hossain, Firoza Begum, Nilufar Yasmin and Ferdous Ara’s uncle, advisor of Surshaptak ABM Abdur Shakur. Noted Nazrul artistes Shahin Samad, Khairul Anam Shakil, Nashid Kamal and on behalf of young generation singers Dilshad Nahar Kona and Yousuf Ahmed Khan will be also honoured on the occasion. Teachers of Surshaptak will be also honoured in this regard.
