Man stabbed to death in city

A youth was stabbed to death by a gang of miscreants in front of his father in the city’s Shonir Akhra in a broad daylight on Tuesday noon.
The deceased was identified as Imon, 18, son of one Abu Bakkar, from Sirajdikhan of Munshiganj district. He worked at a local Grameen RMG factory.
Quoting locals, Mazharul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jatrabari Police Station, confirmed the news to the media and said that the victim Imon and his father Abu Bakkar were returning home from their workplace around 1:30 pm. Just at that time, Humayun and Raju swooped on Imon and stabbed with sharp weapons at random over
previous hostility in the presence of his father near Gobindapur Government Primary School, leaving him critically injured.
Later, victim’s father took his son to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where duty physicians declared him dead at around 2:30 pm, the OC said, adding that the miscreants managed to flee from the spot.
The body of Imon has been kept at the DMCH morgue for an autopsy, said Abdul Khan, ASI of DMCH outpost police.
