BGB-BSF DG level confce begins today

A six-day long director general-level border conference between the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and Border Security Force (BSF) of India is scheduled to begin in New Delhi from December 25.
Various issues including smuggling of narcotics, firearms, arms and ammunition smuggling, killing and killing of Bangladeshi nationals on border, illegal border crossing and increasing mutual trust of the two forces will be prioritised in the meeting, according to a press release.
The conference will be held at Chhawla Complex of Indian Border Security
Force (BSF) near Chhattarpur, on the outskirts of the Indian capital. It will end on December 30.
BGB Director General Major General Md Shafeenul Islam will lead the 11-member delegation of BGB while 19-member BSF delegation headed by its Director General Shri Vivek Johri will take part in the conference.
During the six-day conference, smuggling of yaba, phensidyl, wine, hemp, heroin, Viagra, arms and ammunition into Bangladesh from India, illegal trespassing, border management and Coordinated Border Management Plan (CBMP) will be discussed in the summit.
BGB Director General is likely to meet with India’s Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah during the programme.
The conference will end formally through signing a “joint record of discussions” by two sides on December 29.
After ending the conference, the BGB team will leave India for Dhaka on December 30, added the release.
