Trafficked BD woman returned by BSF in Chuadanga

UNB, Chuadanga :
 Indian Border Security Force (BSF) handed over a Bangladeshi woman, who had been trafficked to the country one and a half years back, to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Sunday through Darshana border in Chuadanga after rescuing her from a shelter centre.
The handover of the woman followed a flag meeting between the border forces of the two countries near 76 no. main pillar on Darshana border after her rescue from a shelter centre in Delhi.
The victim was identified as Nazma Begum, 25, daughter of late Mofazzal Hossain, hailing from Alikadam village in Bandarban district.
BGB sources said one Khaleda Begum and her brother Islamhad lured
Nazma, while she was working at a garment factory in Chittagong,
into India through Benapole border on 6 March, 2013with false job promise.
When she tried to escape, she was caught by Indian police on 19 March and sent to a shelter centre in Delhi.
Major Jahid, acting director of Chuadanga-6 BGB, said Nazma was handed over to them through a flag meeting after the issue had been settled by the high commissions of the two countries.
BSF’s Gede Company Commander D R Thappa and Drashana Company Commander of BGB Mohasin Ali were present, among others, at the meeting.
