Councillor Rajib sent to jail

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday sent expelled Jubo League leader and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) ward councilor Tarequzzaman Rajib to the jail after the end of his remand in two cases filed under the Arms and Narcotics Act.
Magistrate Abu Sayeed of the CMM Court passed the order on Monday.
Earlier in the day, Investigation Officer (IO) of the case Detective Branch (DB) Inspector Fazlul Haque produced Rajib in the court after the 14-days’ remand.
Rapid Action Battalion- (RAB) arrested Rajib from one of his friends’ house in the capital’s Bashundhara Residential Area on October 19 in a raid carried out as part their ongoing drive against corruption.
