Pro-BNP DU teachers demand cancellation of 34 illegal enrolment

DU White Panel teachers formed a human chain at the pedestal of 'Aporajeyo Bangla' protesting against illegal enrolment of 34 BCL leaders and immediate punishment of the perpetrators.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) backed teachers of Dhaka University (DU) demanded cancellation of 34 illegal enrollment of Chhatra League incumbent and former leaders centering Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) polls.
The teachers rejected the business faculty Dean’s statement and demanded explanation from him.
They said it forming a human chain at the base of Aparajeyo Bangla of DU on Thursday.
Prof Siddiqur Rahman said: “Glorious past of DU has been questioned only for authorities’ negligence in keeping admission test fair.”
“In last few years, admission test question papers were leaked which led to re-examination procedure last year,” he said.
He also condemned the illegal admission of 34 ruling party backed students, because tarnished the image of the University.
Among others , Convener of White Panel Obaidul Islam, Prof Lutfor Rahman and Prof Akhter Hossain were present on the program.
The university’s vice-chancellor and business faculty dean reportedly gave preferential treatment to 34 Chhatra League leaders, who were admitted to the Master of Tax Management (MTM) course in the Banking and Insurance department without any admission test.
