Sweety returns to acting

Tanvin Sweety is one of the popular names in the country’s TV play and modelling arenas. This noted actress started her journey through theatre play in 1995. On that year, under the banner of popular theatre group, Theatre she acted in Syed Shamsul Haque-written and Ataur Rahman-directed play Payer Awaj Pawa Jai. Sweety later acted in then popular plays like Spordha, Kritodas, Tomrai, Krishnokanter Will, Meraj Fakirer Maa, Meherjan Arekbar, etc. She is still in theatre play.
She will be seen in Tropa Majumder-directed play Mukti on the stage on September 12.
Sweety has still acceptability among the audience in theatre play. But her success came into discussion for a little bit. Sweety’s presence in TV plays and TVCs always came into limelight rather than acting in theatre plays. But theatre has made today’s Sweety.
While talking in this regard Sweety told this correspondent, “To come into present position, there was a lot of contribution from my parents and husband Ripon. Members of my law’s house also co-operated me in this regard because I got married 21 years. During these times, members of my law’s house co-operated me from their level best. Specially I can tell about Ripon, my husband. When I was engaged with acting in theatre plays during that time he was always with me and also gave me inspiration. I will never forget his contribution in my career.”
Meanwhile, Sweety also informed that she has acted against Chanchal Chowdhury in a serial titled Kaler Jatra for Bangladesh Television (BTV). Akram Khan has made the serial based on Mamunur Rashid’s novel which was scripted by Sabuj Walid.
It is noted that in TV play, Sweety first acted against late Salman Shah in Swapner Prithibi. She first performed as model in TVC of Diamond Brand Oil under Afzal Hossain’s direction. Sweety-starred only movie was Abu Sayeed’s Banshi. Her parents are not alive now. She is ninth among her 10 siblings. Hailed from Muksudpur of Gopalganj, Sweety completed graduation from Lalmatia Women’s College. She tied the nuptial knot with Ripon on September 4 in 1998.
