Worker’s body recovered 21 hours after boat capsizes

An agricultural worker went missing after a country boat capsized while harvesting paddy in Austagram upazila of Kishoreganj on Wednesday.

The worker identified as Iman Miah (30) whose body was recovered 21 hours after he went missing.

The Fire Service and Rescue team recovered his body from Nurpur Haor in Adampur Union of Austagram upazila on Thursday around 11 am.

Kishoreganj Fire Service and Civil Defence Assistant Director (AD) Mofazzal Hossain said that a four-member team, including two divers from Kishoreganj, went to the scene and conducted a rescue operation to locate the missing worker.

“The body of the missing worker has been recovered. Necessary legal action is under process in this regard,” the OC added.

Austagram Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Roknuzzaman confirmed the incident.
