Cop’s body recovered from Jamuna

Locals recovered the body of a police member from the Jamuna River in Kazipur upazila of Sirajganj district on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Belal Hossen, 31, who went missing on Wednesday in a boat capsized.
Belal was working as the bodyguard of Deputy Inspector General (DIG)
of Police of Mymensingh range. Local sources said, a boat carrying passengers of a wedding ceremony capsized the river in Damuria area under Sarishabari upazila of Jamalpur during the inclement weather on Wednesday.
Belal went missing along with an elderly person Javed Ali Tarafder whose body is still to be recovered.
The body of 65-year-old woman, Renu Begum, wife of Javed Ali Tarafder, was recovered from the spot of incident.
AKM Lutfur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Kazipur Police Station told the media after confirming the recovery of the body.
