Section144 at Baghaichhari

Upazilla administration of Baghaichari Upazilla under Rangamati District enforced section 144 at Upazilla on Monday from 7am to 8pm to avoid worsening of law and order situation.
Upazilla Nirbahi Officer UNO Sumon Chowdhury confirmed the enforcement section 144 and told The Daily Observer over mobile phone that two rival groups of tribal people called a gathering at Upazilla sadar . The gathering was called to demand implementation of Chittagong Hill Tracts peace treaty and stop all kinds of activities for setting up medical college and Science and Technology university at Rangamati.
