BGB seizes Tk 903.74cr smuggled goods last year

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized contraband narcotic items and smuggled goods worth about Tk 903.74 crore in 2018, said a press release.
The recovered drugs, mostly from the border areas, were more than 1,26,58,518 Yaba pills tablet, 3,59,150 bottles of Phensedyl, 79,286 bottles of foreign alcohol, 4,608 litres of local alcohol, 36,435 cans of beer, 13,682 kgs of marijuana, over 33 kg heroin, 8,34,695 enegra tablets, 19,448 sedative injections
and 47,03,824 pieces of others tablets. The additional, recovered smuggled goods had195.789 kgs of gold, 93,800 saris, 26,085 three-pieces and shirt pieces, 1,18,836 metres of thun cloth, 43,059 readymade garments, 2,38,502 cubic feet wood (CFT) and 72,479 kgs of tea leaves.
The paramilitary force also recovered 63 pistols, 4 pipe gun, one ak-47 rifle, 3 riverber, 10 air pistols, 11 air gunS, 3 pipe gun, 372 round bullets, 56 coktels, 76 magazines, 28.100 kgs of gunpowder,504 kgs sulfer, 10 newjel-90 and so on.
Besides, police detained 2,705 smugglers and 1,316 Bangladeshis for trying to cross the border illegally. They were handed over to local police Station.
