One killed under wheels of train

A sexagenarian was killed under the wheels of a running train near Badarganj Railway Station under Badarganj upazila on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Sekendar Ali, 65, of Baluavata slum near Badarganj Rail Station in Badarganj pourashava.
Police said the accident occurred when the running Rangpur-bound “Dolonchanpa Express” train from Parbotipur ran over Sekendar Ali as he was crossing the rail line at about 7.30 am, leaving him injured on the spot.
Police, with the help of locals and railway employees, immediately rescued Sekendar and rushed him to Badarganj Upazila Health Complex where he succumbed later.
Confirming the death, Officer-in-Charge of Badarganj Thana Zahidur Rahman Chowdhury told BSS that the body was handed over to his relatives after completing necessary legal formalities.
