Shanto sees slight deficiency of practice

The first batch of Bangladesh Cricket team squad will leave the capital today for Australia. The second batch of Bangladesh Cricket squad will depart the city for Australia on August 2.

The first Test between Bangladesh Cricket team and Australia Cricket team will be held at Marrara Cricket Ground in Darwin from August 13 to August 17.

The second Test between Bangladesh Cricket team and Australia Cricket team will take place at Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay from August 22 to

August 26.
Besides, Bangladesh Cricket team
will take part against Cricket Australia in a three-dayer match, which will be held at DXC Arena in Darwin from August 6 to August 8.

The members of Bangladesh Cricket squad took part in their practice session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in the capital on Thursday.

Later, Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto spoke at the news conference

at the Media Briefing Room in SBNCS . It was rained almost every day in this July. Due to which the Bangladesh Cricket team had some difficulties to take part in the full-fledged practice sessions. Captain Shanto saw a slight deficiency of practice before the Australia series.

He said, “Due to the rain, preparations were not made properly. Still, we tried to prepare on granite and bowling machines. Talking about preparation, there is a slight deficiency.”

Regarding going to play Tests on Australian soil after 23 years, Shanto said, “We are very lucky to go to Australia and play Tests with Australia. I think we have to play more matches there in the last 23 years.

Our goal in Australia will be to play good cricket. We can continue the way we are playing.” Sharing faith in the team’s pacers, Shanto said, “‘I believe the pacers can take 20 wickets in Australian conditions.

There are two experienced spinners along with the pacers. Except Mushfik , all the others are experienced. I hope they have the ability to take 20 wickets.”
