Two kidnapped people rescued in city

Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) rescued two kidnapped people, including a teenage girl, nd arrested three alleged kidnappers from Tongi in Gazipur in separate incidents early Sunday.
The victims were identified as Md Andul Quader alias Liton, 28, Shikha Chowdhury, 17.
The arrestees were identified as Shohel Rana Sumon, 30, Parvin, 45, and her son Md Minto, 32.
Briefing the reporters at DMP Media centre, Joint Commissioner of DB Monirul islam said Shikha Chowdhury had been missing from Dakshin Khan area since May 6. Shikha’s father filed a general diary with local police station in
this connection on the same day. Acting on a tip-off, a special team of DB police led by its senior Assistant Commissioner Nazmul Haque conducted a raid in a house of Tongi College gate area at about 1:00 am and rescued Shikha Chowdhury.
The detectives also arrested Parvin and her son Md Minto from the house, Joint Commissioner Monir said.
During preliminary interrogation, Parvin revealed that she and her son forcibly engaged Shikha Chowdhury in anti-social activities.
Meanwhile, in another incident, the same DB team conducted another drive at Tongi Bazar area at about 3:00 am and rescued Abdul Quader Liton and arrested Sohel Rana alias Sumon, 30.
Earlier on July 21, Liton was kidnapped from Motijheel area. The kidnappers demanded Tk 10 lakh as ransom from his family over phone. A case was filed with Dakshin Khan police satation in this connection.
