Plan to make pre-primary section stronger

The Primary and Mass Education Ministry plans to make the pre-primary section of all government primary schools strong with a view to building the children’s basic strong.
The wide-spread activities of the pre-primary section will start from the first day of the next year, the Ministry sources said.
The top bosses of the Ministry already held several meetings and took many decisions like teachers’ recruitment and their salary structure.
Md Gias Uddin Ahmed, Additional Secretary (Development) of the Primary and Mass Education Ministry, said, it is a very good step to work to make the next generation skilled.
“Previously, we recruited some teachers in the pre-primary sections, but more teachers are necessary to make the section fruitful. That is why we have decided to appoint more teachers for the section,” he said.
“We have prepared a draft and sent to the Public Administration Ministry for the approval from the Finance Ministry.
After getting the green signal from the two Ministries, we will start the appointment process,” he said.
The Ministry sources said, the Ministry decided to appoint one teacher for pre-primary section of the newly government primary schools all over the country. The number of newly government primary schools is 26,159. Previously, the government did it for 37, 662 schools.
A teacher will get Tk 15,000 per month after appointment. They will be given two bonus in a year. Now they will discharge their duties under a project led by the Ministry. Their job will get permanent status after the end of the project tenure, the Ministry officials said.
In total about Tk 550cr will be added in the expenditure sheet of the government per year.
The directorate of primary education has been arranging many trainings on “Pre-Primary Education” for the primary school teachers. The trained up teachers will help the pre-primary sections.
The Ministry also directed all the teachers of the government primary schools to get them ready every time to develop the section.
