Ctg Dev Authority Bill passed in parliament

‘The Chittagong Development Authority Bill, 2018’ was passed by Parliament on Tuesday to ensure planned development of the port city of Chittagong.
Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain moved the bill and it was passed by voice vote. As per the new draft law, there will be a board having a chairman, and four full-time members in addition to incorporating the post of member secretary.
Besides, the Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong will be a member of the CDA Board.The Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department, the Chief Engineer of the CDA, Managing Director of Chittagong Wasa, representatives from the Bangladesh Railways Eastern Zone, Chittagong Seaport Authority, two councillors of Chittagong City Corporation nominated by the city mayor will be its members.
Besides, there will be one representative each from the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, and Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries in the CDA Board while four prtminent citizens will be appointed by the government as its members a CDA sources said.
