Hearing on Zubair killing case deferred again
Court Correspondent :
A Dhaka court on Thursday once again deferred the hearing in the case filed in connection with the murder of Jahangir University student Zubair Ahmed.
Judge Mohammad Nuruzzaman of Dhaka’s Speedy Trial Trubunal-4 fixed July 8 as the next date for hearing in the case. Earlier in the morning, the prosecution sought time as no witness appeared in the court. Similarly, none turned up to the court to testify in the case on June 29, the previous date of hearing.
It may be mentioned that on January 8, 2012 some leaders and activists of
Bangladesh Chhatra League chopped Zubair, a English Department student of Jahangirnagar University. The victim died on the following morning in a city hospital.
The Administration Department of the university filed a murder case in this connection with Ashulia Police Station, accusing 13 Chhatra League leaders and activists.
