2 drug peddlers held with 348 bottles of phensidyl

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-7 in a drive arrested two drug peddlers along with 348 bottles of phensidyl from Shuvopur bus station under Sadarghat Police Station in the port city on Wednesday night. The arrestees were identified as Md Faruk Patwari, 34, son of late Abul Khayer Patwari of Bou Bazar village of Halishahar, and Md Subuj, 28, son of late Abu Sayed of Charpara village in Chouddgram upazila of Comilla district.
Acting on a tip-off, the elite force set up a check post and conducted a drive in the area and arrested the duo with the contraband phensidyl worth Tk 2.78 lakh around 11pm, said a Rab press release.
The team also seized their private car, it added.
A case was filed with Sadarghat Police Station.
