BHF announces final squad for Asian Games

Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) on Friday announced the final squad for the forthcoming Asian Games Qualifying Hockey tournament scheduled to be held from March 2-10 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, Oman.
The champions and runners-up side in the Qualifiers will get the right to strut their stuff against the established powerhouses in Indonesia. The 2018 Asian Games will take place in Indonesia from August 18-September 2.
Earlier, a 38-member Bangladesh hockey squad had begun training on January 12 under the supervision of coach Mahbub Harun. The BHF subsequently trimmed the squad to 28 on January 28.
Final squad: Asim Gope, Abu Sayed Nippon, Khorshadur Rahman, Farhad Ahmed Shetul, Rezaul Karim Babu, Mohammad Ashraful Islam, Shohanur Rahman Sobuj, Mamunur Rahman Chayan, Sarower Hossain, Mohammad Roman Sarkar, Hasan Jubair, Naim Uddin, Mohammad Fazla Hossain Rabby, Russell Mahmud, Milon Hossain, Mohammad Mainul Islam, Mohammad Arshad Hossain and Deen Islam Emon.
Standbys – Biplob Kujur, Monoj Babu, Mohammad Mahabub Hossain and Mohammad Mohsin.
