Son killed, mother injured in Kurigram

Some miscreants brutally killed a five-year-old child and injured seriously his mother in their house at Kamat Angaria village under Bhurungamari upazila of Kurigram district at around 10.30 pm on Monday.
The victims were identified as the injured Pervin Akhtar (30), wife of Md. Rokonuzzaman of the village and the killed her son Raonak (5). Officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhurungamari police station Md. Dilwar Hasan Emam said Pervin Akhtar with her two sons Fuwad (7), and Raonak (5), were watching television in her bedroom at around 8:00 pm. Suddenly two or three miscreants entered her bedroom and slaughtered Raonak to death. They injured Pervin while she tried to safe Raonak. Roanak died on the spot while Fuwad managed to escape from the room.
The miscreants (killers) fled away from the house while Pervin was shouting. Pervin was taken into Bhurungamari health complex at the night. Later she was referred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital while her condition was deteriorated.
Hearing the incident, police rushed to the spot at the night. Police held Rokonuzzaman’s second wife Rehana Begam (21) and her cousin Azadul Alom at early morning Tuesday in this connection.”A murder case was filed in this connection with the police station. We have find out the killers. The incident was occurred as previous enmity. We shall not tell the names of killers in interest of the case,” the OC Insan Hasan said.
