BUBT observes Victory Day-2017

The Victory Day-2017 was observed at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT). Discussion and cultural function was arranged to mark the occasion on Saturday at the Hall Room of the University Permanent Campus, Rupnagar, Mirpur in the capital.
The chief guest at the event was freedom fighter Major General (Retired) Jamil D Ahsan, Bir Protik, psc, while AFM Sarwar Kamal, Chairman of BUBT Trust, Prof Mian Lutfar Rahman, Proctor of BUBT and Chief Coordinator of the BUBT Extra Curricular Activities and Prof Syed Anwarul Huq, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Humanities attended as special guests. Treasurer of BUBT Prof Md. Enayet Hossain Miah presided over the program.
Major General (Retired) Jamil D. Ahsan, Bir Protik delivered the keynote presentation on Liberation War and elaborated the steps of the War showing visual documents.
He said, “Young generation should see the Liberation War documents for inspiration, otherwise they cannot hold the National Flag tightly to move the country forward.”
He also said, “Muktibahini has the great contribution to the Liberation War and the Victory in 9 month fight was possible only for the sacrifice of the freedom fighters.”
AFM Sarwar Kamal, Chairman of BUBT Trust, described the Victory Days Details and said that the War was against discrimination to East Bengal by West Pakistan, Kamal said, “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Father of the Nation, unified the nation for participating in the freedom fight against the Pakistani rulers and exploiters. Bangabandhu was the leader as a great patriot and a strong rebel voice against injustice.”
Deans of various faculties, Registrar of BUBT, Controller of Examinations, Director, CGO, Chairmen of all Departments, Faculty members, Officials and a large number of students of BUBT were present in the event. Md. Sabbir Ahmad, Assistant Professor, Department of English anchored the program.
