8 IU students get Dean’s Award

Eight students from different departments of Islamic University (IU), Kushtia on Tuesday got the Deans Award for their outstanding academic results in honours category under Applied Science Technology Faculty of the university.
IU Applied Science and Technology Faculty’s Dean Prof Dr Md. Shamsul Alam introduced this award for the first time in the University History. The Faculty selected the students for this award. The awardees are- Rownok Jahan of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Department, Mozammel Hossen of Mathematics Department, Aklima Sultana of Applied Nutrition and Food Technology Department, M Muttaleb Hossen of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, M Khanjahan Ali of Information and Communication Engineering Department, Mahfujur Rahman of Statistics Department, M Ariful Islam of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Department and Sabrina Ferdous of Computer Science and Engineering Department.
University vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari distributed the award among the students as a chief guest in a function at room-140 of the faculty recently while former vice chancellor of Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST) Prof Dr M Abdus Sattar and Prof Dr M Kamal Uddin, former pro-VC of IU were present as the honorable guests.
Prof Dr Shamshul Alam, dean of the faculty presided over the programme while Mahmud Hasan Rony and Supria Shingha Ray of master’s students of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering department conducted the award giving function.
